Another Princess Tutu fanart, featuring Princess Kraehe this time!

This was another request I took from tumblr when I took requests there awhile back. They asked for anything with Rue or Kraehe, and I decided to go with Kraehe since I draw her a lot less than I do Rue.

But since I see her as an incredibly tragic character, I didn't do anything happy with this. Quite the opposite. It's up to the viewer what's going on here. She could be angsting about Mytho or about her identity crisis or a mix of both.

This was sketched on paper, scanned, and lineart color changed using Adobe Photoshop 7.0.

Princess Kraehe is not my character. She belongs to the wonderful Itoh Ikuko and HAL Films.

I love that this is "just" a sketch -- no background and no context; simple traditional shading -- and yet it says so much. Kraehe/Rue is at once both a simple character and a deeply complex one, and that you used black-and-white (and then tinged it to purple a bit) is a great choice. I was also struck by the fact that even though she is crying or hiding her face, she is still a prima donna in that she is completing or beginning some balletic pose, as indicated by the angle of the leg in motion.

I really like this; you portrayed a lot of emotion in just a simple sketch! What's more, you got the details of her tutu down very nicely. This is, all in all, a very nice sketch! Good job!
