This is a Princess Tutu fanart and the piece that I made for the "Secret Santa" Christmas thing on the PT LJ community. I was the SS for meepers_369, and judging by her profile thing for the SS, her favorite couple (or so I guessed since they were listed first and foremost) was Mytho/Rue. I originally had a more Christmas-y concept in mind for them, but I wasn't really able to pull it off. So my next idea was to do something not necessarily Christmas-y, but at least to give it a "wintry" feel. And so I went with that.

With the basic idea is of them being cozy and having a snowglobe (with Kinkan Town inside of it <33 ...I imagined that's hard to tell though), I came up with this piece. I decided with being royal and in a story and all, they'd have some pretty fancy/expensive-looking winter apparel. And for whatever reason, I was dying to give Mytho some sort of cape (I love capes/cloaks XD; ). Also, you can probably tell Mytho's feathery collar design was loosely based on his Prince outfit in the anime. It seemed appropriate for semi-winter-ish conditions, I guess. XD; And like their hair colors, I wanted Mytho and Rue's clothing to sort of contrast, so I went with a sort of blue/red comparison (though Rue's is closer to a cranberry color).

Overall, I rather like how it turned out. Sans Mytho's lop-sided crown. XD;;; I think there's a pretty warm feeling between them, even with the winter clothing they're wearing. And I liked the thought of them sort of watching Kinkan Town in a little snowglobe. XD;

This was done in pencil, then penned, scanned, and colored with Adobe Photoshop 6.0.

I have two more Christmas gift CGs that I made for friends, but I'm not sure if I'll be uploading them here. One is kind of...intimate? I think I scarred a few people on the LJ community even if it's nothing more than suggestive. XD; But yeah, would that bother anyone here? (It was a gift for my friend Kristen who likes that aspect of the relationship and it's um...Fakiru XD; ). The other is of Autor, one of the minor characters that my other friend really, really loves. I might upload that one. Not sure yet.

Anyway, Mytho and Rue are not my characters. They belong to the wonderful Itoh Ikuko.
