For 's contest, in which you draw your favorite pairing in a dance pose.
I chose to draw Fakir and Ahiru (big surprise), dancing a waltz, instead of ballet.
I made them significantly older here. And despite what many people would think, I'd say when Ahiru gets older, she'd look nothing like Tutu. Afterall, didn't she say herself, "That's not me." ? (End of Act 8, when comparing herself to Tutu) Anyway, I think when she got older, she'd still be awkward, short, and freckle-faced. XD I put her hair down from the braid in this picture, though.
As for Fakir, I'm willing to bet he just wouldn't stop getting taller. XD hahaha And hopefully his hair would get less poof and be a little sleeker, like I made it in this piece. (That idea came thanks to Mangaka-chan's portrayal of an older Fakir in a character sketch she did for my fic, "Running Ink") And yes, he is smiling, because Fakir just doesn't smile enough in the series, as far as I'm concerned.
The color contrast is fully intentional. Each sort of represents Dark/Light (In the early stages of the anime production process, Fakir was referred to as the "Black Prince" and Ahiru/Tutu as the "White Princess"), Night/Day, Sun/Moon. Their personalities are also nearly total opposites. Anyway, that was just my idea for this piece. Hope you can sort of tell what I was trying to do through their outfit colors.
Anyway, I'm pretty happy with this. I had a ton of fun with the coloring, especially on the hair. And adding little bits to the outfits (feathers, mostly, though I also gave Fakir a hairtie thing) Even the hands turned out better than I thought they would. As for the pose, I imagine they just pulled into a swing, hence Ahiru's hair flying and foot lifting off the ground. Fakir would be more grounded, since I imagine he'd be leading.
But they look like they're having a good time, don't they? ^_^ Enjoy!
Sketched, penned, scanned, and colored with Adobe Photoshop.
Fakir and Ahiru are not my characters.
And this gave me big problems with submitting, so I pardon if you've gotten this message already. The picture should show now, I hope...Been trying to get this uploaded for hours.
Sorry, hon, the pic's not showing! >.< And I wants to see it so bad! I finished the series and absolutely love the pairing. Show us deh pretties! *shakes fist at devART upload*

It should finally show now! XD;;; I have been trying to upload this for seven hours. -_- Even so, this is the crappy JPG version. PNG was three times bigger and wouldn't load more than the tippy top of the picture. I'll switch them when my uploading returns to normal.
this is very good! love the contrast between them!!
