More Princess Tutu fanart, featuring mah OTP, Fakir and Ahiru.
This piece is meant to focus mainly on emotion. The idea for this one came from a random conversation I was having with a friend about Fakir having sensitive hair (don't ask XD; ). From there, I got the image in my head and decided to give it a go. I received some feedback from a few friends on LJ about the original sketch before I colored it, so I was able to change things a little bit, particularly with the hands and Fakir's body. I'm still not completely happy with, but I do think it has been improved somewhat.
It is also implied that they're not really wearing clothing, but nothing is showing (it's more of a head-shot for both) and it's not meant to be taken that way. I just think the lack of clothing really helped bring across the feelings of the piece and I wanted Fakir's scar to be showing.
I went with airbrushing for this and I lightened it up afterward, because I wanted to a get a soft feeling and really bring out the feelings and emotion more than anything else. I wasn't familiar with this style of coloring at all so it was a lot of experimenting. And I don't think solid coloring or cel-shading like I normally do would have that same effect, but that is just my opinion. That said, I realize there's some color bleeding and it's sketchy (I also thought penning it in would work against the softer and more subtle feeling). But I hope you can excuse that and enjoy it.
This actually also has a fic that goes with it now, as I was given it as a prompt for a meme on LJ. I may upload that to ff.net at a later date.
Anyway, this was sketched, scanned, resketched/fixed, scanned again, and then airbrush-colored in Adobe Photoshop 6.0.
Fakir and Ahiru are not my characters. They belong to the wonderful Itoh Ikuko. The concept and art, however, are mine. Please do not reuse without permission or reupload anywhere. Thank you!
oh wow, that is beautiful! to me, you did a wonderful job at portraying and showing the emotions that you are aiming for. very nicely done, probably one of my favorites from you! hope you don't mind, but what is your ff.net name??

I can't help but steal a glance I can't help but smile I can't stop the blush that crosses my cheeks I can't stop the thought of how much i want to be with you
I like it very much in this more sketchy way. I love that type of art.. well I like most, but you are right, this have a way of softening things up
As always, I love the expression they have and how Ahiru have her hair loose. What person in any situtation that is less happy worries about their hair anyway? So I find it a good touch to not have it too fixed Her facework is particulary amazing, something about it just draws me to it.

The lack of clothing, in this case, evokes some kind of innocence. I like it.
You can be unsatisfied with some parts, but it's very beautiful as a whole drawing. I'm specially fond of Fakir's expression and Ahiru's hair when I look at this.
